Sun Rise In Life - Narendra Modi

Barack Obama, president of the oldest democracy country in September, 2014 met a person who was born on 17th September, 1950, three years after India has gained its Independence and now he is the Prime Minister of World’s largest democracy country India. Narendra Damodardas Modi.
Narendra Modi was born at Vadnagar, northern Gujarat. His father was Damodardas and mother Hiraben. Narendra Modi was born in a family of grocers. His family belonged to the Ghanchi (oil-presser) community, which is categorised among the other backward classes by the Indian government. He was the third of six children. Family was a middle class with 6 children, itself is a Dark Night. Income of his father was limited in small town Vadnagar that time. In this type of Night session most of people try excuses for his life or abuses their parents for circumstances, Night was dark at birth. Eight members were living in a small single storey house, which was approximately 40 feet long and 12 feet wide. Family was struggling to make ends meet. Six years aged Narendra was well familiar with family’s circumstances and started work with studies. He started to work at family owned tea stall. His class mates and other children were teasing him as tea seller too, but he ignore all this teasing and remain as normal. Poverty itself is Night of any body’s life. He struggled with his destiny and he was dreamer. He never used his circumstances as excuses for avoiding study either. He made study, extra reading and earning with equal importance at the age of schooling. Such attitude towards life made him different from other from childhood. He accepted challenges of life as Dark Night and carried on his efforts to wait for The Sun rise in his life.
At the age of 17 he left home to travel across India. For two years he travelled across the expansive landscape of India exploring various cultures. When he returned home he was a changed man with a clear aim of what he wanted to achieve in life. He went to Ahmadabad and joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). RSS is a socio-cultural organisation working towards the social and cultural regeneration of India. It was a tough routine for Narendra Modi in Ahmadabad since 1972 when he became a Pracharak (campaigner) for RSS. His day began at 5 am and went on till late Night. Late 1970s also saw a young Narendra Modi join the movement to restore Democracy in India which was reeling under Emergency led by prime minister Mrs Indira Gandhi.
While continuing to shoulder different responsibilities within the Sangh during the 1980s Narendra Modi emerged as an Organizer exemplar with his organizing skills. In 1987 a different chapter began in the life of Mr. Modi when he started work as the General Secretary of the BJP in Gujarat. In his first task, Mr. Modi won a victory for the BJP in Ahmadabad Municipal Corporation elections for the first time ever. He also ensured that the BJP was a close second to the Congress in the 1990 Gujarat Assembly elections. In the 1995 Assembly elections Mr. Modi’s organizational skills ensured the BJP’s vote share increased and the party won 121 seats in the Assembly.
Mr. Modi worked as the National Secretary of BJP from 1995 looking after party’s activities in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. As BJP’s General Secretary Organisation, he worked to ensure the BJP won the 1998 Lok Sabha elections. It was in September 2001 that Mr. Modi received a phone call from then Prime Minister Vajpayee which opened a new chapter in his life taking him from the rough and tumble of Organizational Politics to the World of Governance. This is the time, when Narendra Modi’s mind believed that -

He became Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2000 and successfully stayed for 13 years. On 26th May, 2014 he took oath as 15th Prime Minister of World’s largest democracy with a history making victory of his party just because of his popularity.
Narendra Modi became a Prime Minister of India from a Tea Seller is example of human spirit of being successful and reaching on top, fulfilling dream against all odds called Night period of life.
