On
11th October, 1942, a baby boy has born in the home of well-known Hindi poet
Shri Harivanshrai Shrivastav (Bachchan the pen name) Amitabh in Allahabad,
Uttar Pradesh. Brought up, studied well, taken up job, life was moving OK.
One
day in 1969 he entered in Hindi film industry as an actor, with a recommendation
of that time Prime Minister Smt Indira Gandhi in K. A .Abbas film Saat
Hindustani and Night started……
Almost
first 12 films started from Saat Hindustani, Sanjog, Reshma Aur Shera, Pyar Ki
Kahani, Piya ka Ghar, Parwana, Raaste Ka Patthar, Janan, Garam Masala, Ek Nazar,
Bansi Birju and Sudagar during 1969 to 1973 got flopped or not do well of his
acting career, for which he left a good job in Calcutta. Film Anand with Rajesh
Khanna and Bombay to Goa with great comedian Mehmood made good business but
Rajesh Khanna and Mehmood were stars of that time and they got credit. Carrier
as an actor was facing Dark Night since starting. A person who has dropped his
job carrier for acting facing failure and almost rejection in show business
where your business counts more than your acting, someone is investing in you
for profit only. Frustration started as well as options also for life, including
going back to Allahabad, his native place. Night had disappointed a young and
dynamic personality with a dream to become a star. Obviously a label of flop
star was sticking on his forehead. And
one fine Midnight when, sky was too dark in Life, like no moon Night THE SUN WAS
RISING…………………..
Prakash
Mehra, the film's producer and director, was making a film
First,
Dharmendra was to play the hero. But he wanted to start a film for his own
brother film. Dharmendra was the top actor that time.
Then
Dev Anand But the only thing which bugged Dev Anand was that there were no
songs in the film. He gave advice director to include three-four songs in
the film. And so even, he was ruled out as a hero.
After
to Raj Kumar, who had felt, it was a terrific subject and He would like to
shoot from the very next day. But he wanted to shoot the film in South due to
his schedule in Madras. But, as film’s story was of Mumbai background, it cancelled.
Then
one day, Pran, who played the Pathan's role in the film, told Prakash Mehra to
consider Amitabh Bachchan. He told him
To
see Amitabh's Bombay to Goa. After seeing the film, Prakash Mehra had
felt Amitabh as a future star.
Look
what he said:-
“I
was especially impressed by the fight scene between Amitabh and Shatrughan Sinha
in the film. I selected Amitabh because of the emotions his eyes could
generate. I thought I should give this man a break in my film even though his
earlier films had flopped. Everyone criticised me when I selected him. They
came back when O P Ralhan's film Bandhe Haath in which Amitabh acted
flopped. There was, No way could my film do well, they said, because, in those
days, O P Ralhan's name was bigger than Prakash Mehra's”
People
laughed at me because they felt that after making three jubilees, Prakash has
gone senile. They used to say, 'Prakash is making an art film.' -As told to

Despite
all comments and well-wishers warning Prakash Mehra kept faith in him and on
that time flop-star Amitabh Bachchan and see the result.
Film
did well in Calcutta but not in Mumbai for first 4 days. After 4 days Mumbai
and film created history and proved milestone film in Indian cinema history. Film
proved super hit and a new Super Star has been given by the film and producer-director
Prakash Mehra. Film was ZANZEER and New Super Star was ANGRY YOUNG MAN –
AMITABH BACHCHAN.
After
a Long Dark Night Amitabh observed

HIS LIFE...
The
Sun not only rose in his life but stayed for a very very long time on the top
of the head of Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh became bigger and bigger and star to
super star, say he himself became a Sun. Whole film industry were using his
light to enlightened their life. Time passed – Sun set again after a long span
of almost 3 decade, once again Night
started – failure touched his destiny – and this time Night was stayed for
almost 7 years long with Amitabh’s semi-retirement and failure of a venture A B
C L’s and some films during this period. Once again label of flop star after a
grand successful Era, once again eyes of people were looking as Lost Charm Personality.
Many of them had started to neglect him due to his continues failure (Dark
Night) But again, The Sun was Rising there. This time Yash Chopra kept faith
again in him and once again he witnessed.
SUN
RISE
IN
HIS LIFE...
He
became BIG B in Indian film industry and got many rewards, awards and Fame as
never before. Till today The Sun is on top of his head. Now he is not Star or
Super Star but, The Sun of Indian Film Industry who will give Lights and Inspiration
for many Years.
